Introduction

In order to become “good” businesses entrepreneurs are looking for information and guidance that will enable them to develop as humane and ecologically sustainable, with the ability to meet high ethical standards, generate customer loyalty and meet the ESG regulatory requirements and be competitive in the emerging business environment ( European Academy of Management, 2022).

The aim of the intervention is to develop the awareness, understanding, attitude and skills business entrepreneurs need to think and act in ways that benefit themselves, others, their community, the wider society and the environment.   It has been developed by working closely with entrepreneurs and others within the entrepreneur eco-system.  It draws upon both the lived experience of entrepreneurs acting in ways that they defined as being prosocial, and the experiences, insights and views of those supporting entrepreneurs including business advisers, business networks, universities and colleges and commercial trainers and coaches.

The online intervention aims to develop the awareness, understanding and skills needed to:

  • Ensure personal and business viability
  • Build and maintain better relationships
  • Achieve excellence
  • Achieve personal and business growth
  • Express yourself authentically
  • Function as part of a community
  • Aligning how you live and run the business with your purpose

The materials contained in each of the online Units has been tried, tested and adapted to ensure that both the approach taken and the curriculum materials reflect the diverse learning needs of entrepreneurs.  They have been designed to be relevant at each stage of the entrepreneur journey, for business leaders of any size business and from any commercial sector.

The materials consist of self-assessment activities to help you identify your learning needs, information sheets and other resources, bite-size reflection activities that are easily accessible  practical tasks, experiential learning activities that are mindfulness informed and access to an online community and additional resources – regularly updated.

Here’s what they had to say…

“ I now realise more tangibly how my lack of understanding in this area can impact the long-term sustainability of the business and is a risk!”

“ I would certainly recommend these activities to others.”

“ I found these activities a good investment of my time and will likely return to them in the future.”

“ These activities also forced me to look at and find some uncomfortable truths.”

You are invited to engage with the materials in ways that make sense to you -focusing on the Units that meet your learning and development need, are of most interest, or you have been advised to.
